A neighbour sent this photo in. After hearing scrabbling in their chimney a feathery little chap dropped down into the grate, hopped onto the hearth, shook himself and flew up onto a chest of drawers apparently none the worse for his escapade. Thankfully there was no soot in the chimney! It then took off and flew to freedom through an open window.
Preparing for the rut
Practising for the rut. Wonderful footage captured by a trail camera at night in one of our village gardens.
Happened across this honeycomb in a local hedgerow buzzing with honey bees. As the number of bees in a hive grows the colony runs out of space and it is time to split and look for a new home - so they swarm
This cheeky chappie landed on my patio, made his way through the open door into the kitchen, investigated the dining room then flew from one perch to another in the sitting-room. He spent a little while surveying the scene, left a small deposit then left through an open window. What a charming visitor! |
